We are up with a new ARC manager and she is very inconsistant about her way of running the office. It just doesn't seem fair at times, where at other times, she is really great. She is still learning and it is a process.

Advice for prospective applicants:

Get ready for politics and favoritism. If you play the game, you will do great. If you don't play, I wouldn't advise applying.

It is a work in progress. Based on my 9 years working in this environment, the institute needs to unify all subdivisions as it pertains to administrative functions, that way workflow can be more proactive as opposed to reactive.

Advice for prospective applicants:

Your background should be in scientific research

The NIH is an excellent organization and they are hiring several biological scientists. This is a great opportunity for biology majors and those interested in medical research.
