Because at this present moment I am supplemental work force personnel. I've been employed by the postal service for (6) years.Ive taken the exam at least (6)times.I' seen employees be hired on as career, that weren't hardly coming to wrk when tey were casuals.I'm dependable, hardworking, always going the extra mile for my employer and fellow employees. In short I love working for the postal service, but there is no room for advancement for me. I have an Associates Degree and I cant use my degree to benefit my job.

Advice for prospective applicants:

Mae sur that you. come in the door as a career employee, so as to receive the maximum benefits the postal service has to offer(magnificant)

It is very difficult to get promoted in the Postal Service. Many of the employees who are successful in management have gone up through the ranks. The Postal Service does not consider education an asset.

Advice for prospective applicants:

The Postal Service should be considered last in the employment search.

This organization does nothing to help you advance after you go to school to obtain your degrees!! The higher ups are more interested in using your back, not your brains.

Advice for prospective applicants:

Start off with the corporate side not on the workroom floor. Once you start on the floor it's hell trying to move up if you don't know anyone.

If you are a regular, things are better, but ion small offices where there are mainly ptf's, you are treating with no respect or dignity at all

Jobs are given based on seniority and the shifts and days off stink until you have been there a long time.

Based on my knowledge and experience working for the Postal Service and Union deserve this rating for everyone doing their best to create a perfect workplace, safety issues, and excellent leadership team that guides you towards delivering results towards KPI.

Advice for prospective applicants:

My advice for people to consider is learning the Battery Exam to master, and prepare for the challenge on taking the exam. Afterall you'll work for a rewarding company that will give you a financial stability while your in service for the Postal Service

Advice for prospective applicants:

Visit Postal facilites and explore the opportunities that are available.

I have worked with the Postal Service 24 years and feel that this rating is a fair assessment, based on my experience.

Advice for prospective applicants:

The pay is reasonable for the type of work that is required.

They are down-sizing and getting rid of limited-duty (hurt on the job) people and not helping to place them in a position. They're just sending them home, saying there's no work for them.

Advice for prospective applicants:

Yes, they're not hiring.

the changes that are going on with in the service i am not sure is the correct way of doing it.

Leadership: 3  |   Environment: 1  |   Pay: 3  |   Stability: 5  |   Advancement: 2   =  2.8

The Postal Service does not care about the employee. They are concern about moving the mail. Safety is not the number one issue at this agency.

Advice for prospective applicants:

Let the Postal Service be a stepping stone to a better position in the government.

Leadership: 1  |   Environment: 3  |   Pay: 4  |   Stability: 4  |   Advancement: 2   =  2.8

The postal service is a great place to work, but there is very little chance for advancement. There is also no leadership, everyone wants to advance to the next step so they do whatever it takes to get there. It is not a employee oriented environment like the private sector, where companies appreciate good employees.

Advice for prospective applicants:

Unless you are planning to advancement into a management position, I would recommend that you apply only for a temporary job with the USPS.
