The Army is a great experience for learning traits such as; leadership, pride, and honor but it is not for everyone. The Army provides you stability by giving you housing, medical coverage, etc. The hours and assignments take you away from your family more than it allows you to be home. The Army is a great chance for improving your life but is better for a single worry free person.
Give it time and a chance. Do not judge the Army on your first assignment.
I believe the Armed Forces have the best leadership training you can get anywhere. The environments you work in might not be the best, but they are far outweighed by the experiences. The job stability is definitely there, as well as the opportunities to advance. Especially as an officer, you have the power to shape your own career.
It's not just a job - it's a way of life, so make no mistake of the choice you make. Other than that, it's a chance to get ahead in life.
