The Navy has allowed to excell and prepare myself for a stable future and solid career. The Navy Has given me outstanding leadership skills by example and actual work experience. The Enviroment is great you get to work with people you never met before from all walks of life and to be able to leade them in the right direction to accomplish one goal. The pay is only good once you make rank or depending on location. Job stability is outstanding, as long ad there is a America to protect, there will be a Navy. Advancement is also outstanding only depending on your job. My job depends on knowledge, willing to learn, experience, and leadership skills which I have been able to excell myself in.
It is a choice you will never regret. It is definetly a life changing experience that will point you in the right direction.
They have provided good things for me. I am where I am today because of the Navy.
Be focused on your goals, have your own mind, but willing to learn, and have a good time.
it is a great instution for learning and growth
take the GI-Bill and learn as much as you can
This is an extremely diverse community so you get your good eggs and your bad eggs, so to speak. The pay is not that great for how often we are out to sea or working, but the job security is the best. I have had some good times here and I've matured and learned alot whether it be how to do my job or how to be a leader and stand out amongst my peers. I am sad to have to go, but it's just not for me anymore. My family is my priority so the long hours and being deployed are not going to work for me anymore.
Do your research before you join. Talk to people who have been in or who are currently in. Explore the different ratings and find the one that best suits you. The recruiter and MEP station will try to push jobs on you that they are in need to fill, so make sure it's really something that you will enjoy doing because you are signing a contract that puts you in that career field for at least four years.
Leadership: It's hit or miss. There are great ones and terrible ones, and you always have 5 different bosses. Environment: It's a whole different lifestyle that you have to adapt to. Pay: It's not too bad, but not the thing that will make you want to join. Stability: You can't get fired! And the pay check comes twice a month no matter what. Advancement: In my rate (CTR), advancement is extremely easy.
Make sure the job you sign up for is the job you want.
it's ok...if you can deal with it.
be ready for a lot of hurry up and wait
This is how I feel regarding the Navy.
To excel in the NAVY is up to each individual SAILOR. The pay is based on your advancement and your advancement is a reflection of your dedication.
Remember that the NAVY is not a regular nine to five job. You have to conform to the regulations and standards that govern us in order to be successful.
It's a Great Job that I have enjoyed for many years.
The Navy is a great way to improve and get started on job paths. The environment we work in is very hectic and unique which helps its employees work in a variety of situations. I'm proud of serving my country through the Navy, and now wish to serve it in a civilian compacity.
You can always tell people with pride that you served in the US Navy.
This outstanding organization participates in the latest technology and fully supports the call for freedom
Fully support the occupation
IT DESERVE THIS RATING BECAUSE EVERYTHING HAS A DOWN SIDE TO IT AND I REALLY ENJOY THE NAVY.
MAKE SURE IT IS WHAT YOU WANT AND MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE TYPE OF JOB YOU WANT IF YOU ARE GOING TO JOIN.
The world and how things wok are ever changing. The navy is slow in this area.
It is an excellant oppurtinity. Like many things you will get what you put into it.
It is hard to advance in my rating due to it being overmanned. Thats why i am insearch for a job before my enlistment is up.
It is a great way to learn leadership skills and to get things on track for life.
The Navy does Excellent in providing opportunities for a Sailor to show leadership. For example, I volunteered as the Color Guard Coordinator in order to participate in Enlisted Retirements and Reenlistments.
The Navy is a perfect place in order to gain work experience as well as to obtain a college degree.
