Where's My Tax Stimulus Rebate?
Information sourced from IRS website

Wondering why your friends have already received their tax stimulus rebate, but you haven’t heard anything about it? This article will explain the exact date on which you can expect your check to arrive.
Economic stimulus payments are issued according to the last two digits of your Social Security number (assuming that you are the primary filer of your taxes). For joint filers, the digits of the person listed first will be used.
All payments will fit into one of two categories: direct deposit and paper check. Those who filed with direct deposit started receiving their payments on April 28th. Payments should be received by close of business on the dates listed below:
Direct Deposit

If filing or preparation fees were deducted from your 2007 refund or if you obtained a refund anticipation loan or other bank product related to your regular tax refund, you will receive a check instead of a direct deposit.
Paper checks will also go out based on Social Security number. For Social Security numbers ending in 00 through 09, the paper checks will be mailed starting May 9 and will continue through May 16. A similar process will be repeated in the following weeks.
Please allow additional delivery time, perhaps 3 to 5 days, since the paper checks are being sent through the mail.
Paper Check

People who file a return after April 15 will receive their economic stimulus payment, but probably later than the schedule shows. A return must be filed by October 15 in order to receive a stimulus payment this year. See the online calculator for an estimate of the amount you will receive.
A small percentage of tax returns will require additional time to process and to compute a stimulus payment amount. For these returns, stimulus payments may not be issued in accordance with the schedule above, even if the tax return was processed by April 15.
If you have any questions about your payment, you can always call the toll-free Rebate Hotline at 1-866-234-2942.

As long as you filed before they started the issuance. If you filed after, or had an extension to your taxes, it could delay your rebate.

What is if you filed late? Does it make a difference in timing?

Good grief, Boatwright. With all of the news clips and shows about identify theft why would you post your kid's and mother's social security number and names?

We should have received our stimulus check by May 16th according to the schedule and haven't received it yet. Others with similar digits have already received theirs, so I don't understand how the schedule can be working.

Mike, I'm not sure. Sometimes, divorce paperwork can take a long time to process - it might not affect your taxes yet. You could always call that number and find out!
