I'll have to check the law here in Virginia. I do keep my gun and my ammo separate (in the same box separated by a partition - makes it easier to practice loading in the dark).

Homeland security at it's best. They had tried to pass a law here in PA that said you had to store your firearms and ammo separatly. Didn't pass real well.
