What really works when trying to change careers within the Government? What ways can you really use to network with people otherwise would never meet, and how should you approach them as to not come off as fake. I will post my thoughts on just that soon.

Well in my line of work there are different gov't agency's that I deal with on a constant, usually face to face, basis. I know that in certain circumstances If I go a above and beyond to help them out, and stike a professional friendship with them, when the time comes around I might mention "hey so, I am looking into getting hired by the dept of... uptisquat, in turn will result in some tips or recommendations by them.

Some agencies, depending on what your line of work is, have an age limit. For the most part that I am aware of anyway, do not really have any age restrictions. I do know a lot of times it helps to know someone with that gov't job you are looking for, but in today's day and age college degrees are usually a knockout. Prior generations to this didn't emphasize eduacation as much as today's standards, and I see people fresh out of college all the time with BA/BS's picking up jobs right away that I have had to work for, for several years just to be considered.
