Don't believe the hype! Drywall will have its day. The nail pops in the ceilings will be gone. Homes are being built too fast and the quality isn't there. I'm not saying this because I'm a plasterer but if you were to purchase a house wouldn't you want a guarentee that it will still be a house in 50 or 100 years? Use Plaster. No nail pops.

I hope so - I agree my house growing up was built to fast and cracks in the walls quickly emerged. Do you think that the current slowdown in home buying will help the plaster trade?

I think the whole country should slow down and smell the coffee on pretty much all phases of constructing a home. The American people , now-a-days, just worry about production and how much can be done. We need to get off that kick. Look how many houses are now sitting empty and how many forclosures there are.

I think a big part of the foreclosure trend is the fact that too many Americans are living beyond their means. I agree with the coffee break statement - if you aren't ready to own a home financially don't think that you have to own one by a certain age. Rent for a few years more at least that way you will be forced to live within your means rather than having a mortgage that is five or six times your annual income.

New indoor products introduced. Cheaper prices than you think. $1 per sq. ft. to start. Even products that illiminate painting your house all together.

I'm confused about what you're trying to get at. Do you think there is more of an issue with the private sector trade jobs or with public sector ones?
