SCANDALS!

Posted 9 months ago Seems to always be scandal - if not the Detroit mayor text messaging inappropriate things OR the Portland mayor who posed in lingerie and put the pics on MySpace OR the entire history of the Louisiana government. When is it is too far? As long as it doesn't hurt anyone, can't we just look at it as entertainment news? Like a political US weekly or something? |

| Posted 9 months ago I pointed out on another post that Freedom of Speech, including media has gone way to far. Your point as to "as long as it doesn't hurt anyone" is a good point. I think that people take their Freedom of speech way to far because it was not meant to harm anyone. Our founding fathers never spoke like this about each other nor did they report on each others personal lives. Only their professional lives. We as a society dove way to far into politicians personals lives and base this on our judgements of them. Are they a good leader and decision maker should be the question we are really asking? Not do they wear womens underwear!!! LOL although funny and entertaining it probably wasn't our place to ever know that he was doing this in the first place!!! |

| Posted 9 months ago But shouldn't our public leaders be the paradigm for us to follow? The perfect example that we as citizens look up to? |

| Posted 9 months ago To be a perfect citizen is too much to ask. I'm from the SE MI area and the issue with the Detroit mayor is not that he had an affair but that he lied about it. Police officers assigned to his protection team were fired for reporting his affair to thier internal affiars dept. His private behavior would have stayed private if he had not crossed the line and publicly fired the police officers. He got caught lieing in a wistleblower lawsuit, lost it and lied to city counsel so the cash broke city would pay millions to cover up that he lied and wrongfully fired those police officers.
Had the mayor used his private cell to text his mistress the affair would have stayed private. But they used city issued cells and the text messages became govt. correspondance. The texts prove that they lied under oath. |

| Posted 2 months ago There have always been some kind of scandals even before Lincoln took office. It's about time people took their minds off the negatives and look to what the country can still be. It's good to have the scandals brought to light; how unfortunate for those who are trying their hardest to do what is right. The good can't be seen for all the bad that's being done. Remember Diana who went out of her way to do good for her country? Those people thinking they had the right to know her every move kept following her until one day there was an accident that took her life. I know there were other things that contributed to her death, but you get the point. No wonder Obama told that little girl that the country wasn't as good as it used to be. That's all that he saw was the darkness. Now he's changed his words (hopefully he learned from his mistake) to let people know that this is a great country: it just needs fixing up. |

| Posted 2 months ago Let's hope that there won't be any more than we see now. The light is showing bright on all those who are doing the wrong thing for all the wrong reasons. Let people become aware that when they take the wrong road, there will be circumstances to pay. |

| Posted 2 months ago Some things aren't worth knowing about. The scandals about the Kennedys and Marilyn Monroe important? Only if they talked about what's going on in the oval office. There are too many scandal sheets nowadays. If they can't find something, someone will make one up -- take things out of context. |
