Hello everyone,

Yesterday, I had my first government interview every. So I'm just learning the process, I applied for the HUD MBA fellow internship. Right after the interview with Washington DC, I started receiving e-mails from them that I was qualified for 3 out of the 5 states that I pick to relocate if I was employed.

Do I go through another interview with those regional offices after doing the one with DC?

Do I just sit around and hope that I hear something in the next week or two?

What should I do?

I know that I would be a great employee and they wouldn't be let down if they chose me. But at the same time I don't want to seem like I pushing it. Because I plan on relocation to Atlanta, Ga in the end of June if I don't receive any job offers from them. So I'm trying not to put all me eggs in one basket.

Hello there,

I just received phone call from HUD this morning extending their offer of MBA fellow for me for 2 years.  Although I did look up/researched this position before I applied and interviewed for, I do not know much about the procedure or training before and after completion of the 2 years program.  My question are:

1) What is the percentage retaining rate after completion 2 years developmental program?

2) Is GS-12 automatically offerred once you're offered permanent appointment?

3) Can you choose to relocate wherever you want after completion of 2 years?

I am very excited about this opportunity and I am willing to relocate to D.C. just for this.  By the way I've just been offered a buyer position with the Boeing company in Seattle.  I am weighting my options.

Anyone please advise.

Here is what I know. If you goto www.federalsoup.com you'll see a 40 something post talking about this and you can link up with another guy and me.

For question #1 There is no promise that you'll be employed.

#2: No, You still have to apply for a position. But you have you leg in the door for any GS-12 spot.

#3 Yes, But keep in mind that there has to be a spot where you relocate.

I hope to see you on federalsoup.com I have my e-mail posted there.
