How's this for controversial?

I think there should be some sort of test before you are allowed to vote.  Nothing biased and nothing that would even be hard...but something that makes sure that the people voting have SOME idea what the hell they are are voting FOR.  Hell, it could even be on the registration, so you could look things up if you didn't know!  Example questions on voter registration forms could be:

1) Who is the current President?

2) Who was the last President?

3) Is the United States currently at war?  With whom?

4) Is the value of the dollar going up or down?

The kind of questions I would like to see are meant to make sure that the people voting have the slightest clue what they are actually voting for.

Cmon!  This should get some fun responses!

Hah, I like this idea!  Although, it's hard to see how it would actually encourage more people to place educated votes.  They'd probably just feel like failures.

VERY FEW PEOPLE VOTE ANYWAY

NUMBER 3- WHO ARE WE AT WAR WITH, SMARTY?  MISSION ACCOMPLISHED

Also, no declaration of war for either of the conflicts that are going on now.

You would probably not be able to vote based on your own criteria.
